Other Activity

Trust Directors have undertaken a number of smaller projects and successful fundraising for other community organisations:

• Playpark repairs -  as part of our responsibilities under the tripartite agreement for the Playpark, the Trust has applied for Community grants for repairs - £2100 in 2021 and £800 in 2025.

• Absent Friends Exhibition 2024 - a joint project with the Village Hall using a combination of community funding and a grant from To Absent Friends.

• Beach Cleans - we secured a grant of £3000 from Neighbourly for the Community Council to carry out a mechanical beach clean in 2024 supplemented by a community grant of £600. 

• In 2021 we secured a grant of £1000 from Arnold Clark towards heating bills for the Village Hall.

• In 2021 the Trust applied for £1600 of community funding to encourage individuals and groups to start using the Village Hall again after the COVID lockdowns.

• Covid support - external funding from Scottish government to provide food and fuel support during the 2020 COVID lockdown.
