The Trust, working with our volunteers and external agencies has initiated and managed a number of major community development projects.
A significant challenge with all such projects is raising sufficient external funding to minimise the impact of project costs on limited community funds. Our Directors donate many hours completing external funding applications and, of course, managing these projects to completion once funding is secured.
Each year, we identify a range candidate projects, informed by priorities in the Local Place Plan. From these, we assess the feasibility, opportunities for external funding, and most importantly, the availability of volunteers, before selecting those that we aim to tackle next. We then present the candidate project list at our AGM for agreement. If you have a suggestion for a Community Trust project (ideally informed by the Local Place Plan), do let us know.
